Definition
Concept developed by philosopher John Rawls, whereby, if people voted or otherwise came to their political / social beliefs before they existed (what he calls the original position), and thus ignorant of their future status in life, they would embrace a more “just” position, whereby everyone benefits equally, rather than allegedly being influenced by their race, wealth, intelligence, ancestry etc., so as to only benefit those of their own demographic.
