net zero emissions

Definition
A.k.a. carbon neutral. A goal set by some countries to minimise their so-called carbon footprint by limiting their CO2 output as well as engaging in efforts, known as sequestration, to reduce the CO2 already in the atmosphere to the effect that the resultant total is zero. Zero emissions would be to eliminate all green house gas emissions such as through transportation, energy production, agriculture and industry, irrespective of what sequestration might be done.
