Potential Costs and Impact of Health Provisions in the Build Back Better Act

The Build Back Better Act , H.R. 5376, (BBBA), adopted by the House of Representatives on November 19, 2021 with the support of President Biden, includes a broad package of health, social, climate change and revenue provisions. The total package includes $1.7 trillion in spending, according to the Congressional Budget Office  (CBO), which also projects that three of the health provisions would reduce the number of uninsured by 3.4 million people.
